An excellent opportunity has become available to join our client, a renowned London University, as an Academic Administrator on a temporary basis. The successful applicant will assist to academic and research staff as well as students within the Department with all round administrative service.

The Ideal Academic Administrator will have minimum of two years’ experience working in an administrative position, preferably in a higher education setting. If you possess excellent communicational, organisational and administrative skills, also, would like to gain invaluable experience working at a Leading London University, then this can be the perfect opportunity for you.

Academic Administrator Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support to the Department
  • Answering incoming telephone calls, dealing with queries effectively in a customer focused manner
  • Arranging travel and accommodation for the Academics
  • Logging expenses for senior staff
  • Placing orders for lab equipment and supplies
  • Assisting the Committee with booking meeting rooms, taking minutes,
  • Maintaining good record keeping and updating data bases with high accuracy
  • Utilising own initiative to develop or update administrative procedures
  • Supporting the Manager with recruitment for research staff
  • Assisting with additional ad hoc administrative duties when required

Academic Administrator Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a Higher Education setting is desired
  • Minimum two years of experience working in an administrator or assistant role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload independently
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as a part of a team
