Our client, a Top London University within the Central London area, is seeking a Academic Administrator to join one of their Institutes on a temporary basis. The Academic Assistant ensure a highly professional and welcoming environment for guests and staff at the Institute whilst assisting with a range of administrative tasks in a busy environment.


The ideal candidate will be a friendly, confident and highly professional individual who has already undertaken similar duties to the ones required for this role in previous positions so that they can really hit the ground running. You will need to have previous financial administration experience as well as experience as a team assistant, ideally within a Higher Education setting, although this is not required.


Academic Assistant Key Responsibilities:


  • To provide a wide array of administrative support specifically to the Head of Administration and operation professional service team
  • To ensure a highly professional and welcoming environment for both the guests at the department and the staff that work there
  • To set up meetings, through room bookings and catering arrangements, and also to close down these meetings
  • To support the department through diary management
  • To provide financial administration support to the department through the processing of expense claims and the reporting and tracking of expenditures through Microsoft Excel


Academic Assistant Key Skills and Experience:


  • Previous team assistant experience, with duties such as setting up meetings and diary management having been undertaken in previous roles, ideally within a Higher Education setting
  • Previous front of house experience proving excellent customer service skills
  • Previous financial administration experience, such as processing invoices and expense claims
  • A positive, confident, and friendly demeanour
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Highly IT literate, with intemediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel required
