An Arrears Assistant is required on a temporary basis within a well-established company in Central Bristol. The Arrears Assistant will ensure any customer debt is paid within set timescales, while maintaining supportive relationships with, sometimes, particularly sensitive customers.

Offering an hourly rate equivalent to £22,000, this is a great opportunity for someone who loves being on the phone, building relationships and learning new skills!

Responsibilities for the Arrears Assistant are as follows:

  • Outbound calls to customers, taking payments and updating details on the system
  • Distributing arrears letters, emails and other lines of communications
  • Setting up payment plans for customers and following up any agreements not adhered to
  • Providing expert support and advice to customers, building strong relationships and delivering a high service
  • Remaining professional, yet supportive when speaking with customers
  • Liaising with internal departments regarding account updates

Required skills:

  • Strong customer service experience (phone based)
  • Competent with Excel
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Confidence in handling difficult conversations
