A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our client, a leading London University, as a Communications Officer on a long term, part time temporary basis. The Communications Officer will assist the team with website management, communications strategies and social media management.

 Communications Officer Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate the departments communication strategies
  • Monitoring and evaluating all communications activity and providing feedback to the department’s Senior Leadership Team
  • Work with staff and external relations to enhance the departments’ website, advising on best practice and to ensure coherence across the departments’ site
  • Work with the PR Manager to raise the profile of the department, identifying relevant research and student success stories
  • Delivering coherent and consistent internal / external communications, as well as marketing and media matters, across the whole department
  • Drafting and editing documents for key marketing materials including newsletters, prospectuses, the annual review and e-shots
  • Proofreading and cross-checking all communications to be released to be released to parents and other external parties

Communications Officer Key Skills and Experience:

  • At least two years of Communication experience, ideally within the Higher Education sector
  • Educated to a first degree or equivalent
  • Good organisational skills to be able to manage a demanding and varied workload
  • Strong IT skills, including experience of and skill in composing and managing web content within a content management system and / or use of HTML
  • Excellent time management, communication and organisational skills
