Our Client, a leading London University is looking for a Deputy Head of School Secretariat to join their busy team on a temporary capacity within the West London area. The successful applicant will be responsible for the implementation of reviews of the undergraduate programmes, and support reviews of the curriculum, in collaboration with programme management and academic staff.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in reporting and quality management, preferably gained within the higher education sector. If you have excellent leadership, communication and analytical skills, then this can be the perfect opportunity for you.

Deputy Head of School Secretariat Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the collection and analysis of data, identifying trends and using the results to propose solutions to problems
  • Monitor quality concerns and liaise with the Head of School Secretariat and academic staff to resolve them
  • Monitor active quality issues to ensure that they are resolved in a timely fashion and reported to relevant committees
  • Work with the Head of School Secretariat to implement the overall strategy for the School, and ensure that this is reflected in the operational activities of the department
  • Advise senior staff of options to support decision-making, using proven models and taking risk factors into consideration
  • Produce or compile complex management information and reports for senior staff, the registry, partners in the NHS and Quality Assurance bodies such as the GMC
  • Contribute to the delivery of the School strategy, supporting other team members and representing the Head of School Secretariat when requested
  • Act as a mentor to junior colleagues to support their continued professional development
  • To organise and coordinate operations and procedures to ensure maximum productivity
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Deputy Head of School Secretariat Skills and Experience

  • Educated to Degree level, or equivalent relevant experience in a similar or related role(s), demonstrating development through a series of progressively more demanding work/roles
  • Strong operational knowledge of some areas relating to this role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record of supporting the student experience in a Higher Education setting
  • Experience of managing the activities of others and complex issues
  • Strong knowledge of regulations and codes of practice and the implications of non-compliance
  • Demonstrable ability to undertake research, analyse information and make judgments and decisions based on the outcome
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook)
