Our client, a prestigious London University, is looking for a confident administrator to provide support for both their Education Support Team and Postgraduate Research Team on a temporary, immediate start basis. You will be a crucial first point of contact for students and staff, and will provide administrative support for all aspects of the postgraduate research process.

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with students, academics, and even external stakeholders. You will need to have excellent organisational skills, especially in the busy period in the start of the New Year, as well as the ability to manage a varied workload.

Postgraduate Research Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  •  To provide administrative support for the Education Support Team, and liaise with the academic staff and students
  • To act as a key point of contact for students and academic staff, and communicate information clearly and precisely and assessing what needs to be passed onto others
  • To ensure that electronic and printed materials are kept up to date and address any issues that arise
  • To support related activities in the department including marketing, enrollment, open days and induction of new students
  • To independently and manage own workload to meet the objectives and deadlines
  • To ensure that applications and project approval forms are administrated within the required time frames
  • To support Postgraduate Research activity, working with the academic and administrative teams

Postgraduate Research Assistant Key Skills and Experience:

  •  Degree level educated
  • Two years’ administrative experience, ideally within a University setting
  • Previous experience working within a busy and front-facing role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to ensure clear articulation when liaising with Academics and other members of the team
  • The ability to demonstrate that they can work independently and manage own workload
