There is an exciting new opportunity for Research Administrator to join our client, a leading London university on a temporary basis. The role is acting as Administration support for the Life Sciences’ department. It is an exciting post for someone who is interested in Higher Education and the Sciences.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for academics enquiring about their research grants, and as such the ability to communicate effectively is desired. You will be reporting to the departmental manager and assisting with policy and procedures relating to research grants in an academic setting. Research Administrator’s Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships with all levels of staff
  • Previous experience in managing administrative systems to ensure efficient and effective running of department
  • A high standard of numeracy, ability to interpret financial information and communicate it to academic and research staff
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a high volume and varied workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with Employment regulations, HR Policies and Procedures is desired

Research Administrator’s Key Skills and Experience

  • Educated to degree level or higher
  • Previous experience of working in a research or academic environment
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Previous experience in a customer-focused service
  • Ability to use Oracle is a desired skill
