Our Client, a leading University within the Central London area is looking for a Senior Administrator with immediate start on a temporary basis. The successful applicant will support the development, implementation and day to day running of the virtual learning environment and associated technology enhanced teaching innovations across the Faculty.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience with overseeing the end to end operation of projects and of implementing and maintaining digital systems for teaching /learning, ideally within the higher education sector. Senior Administrator Key Skills:

  • Act as the virtual learning environment administration lead for the Faculty in conjunction with the Education Manager, working on structures, permissions, annual rollover, updates, and the dissemination of related information to relevant staff
  • Identify and promote best practice from across the Institute and sector within the Faculty, including actively monitoring trends and developments in e-learning
  • To work closely with departments on the delivery of an excellent e-learning experience for students across the Faculty, promoting good practice to achieve this
  • To facilitate, develop and implement projects relating to education, students and their programmes across the Faculty
  • To support the collection and interpretation of student feedback at all levels in the Faculty
  • To be responsible for the organisation of the Faculty’s research student induction day and organise the annual Faculty research student poster competition
  • To support the operation of the Faculty Scholarships scheme in liaison with the Faculty Education Co-ordinator

Senior Administrator Skills and Experience:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent
  • Substantial experience of administration, preferably in an academic environment
  • Excellent IT skills, including MS Office, databases, business systems etc
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a good standard of English language
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills, in order to handle a large volume of work with tight deadlines
  • Experience of implementing changes in procedures and processes
  • Experience of drafting documents and correspondence independently
  • Experience of using and manipulating electronic resources including extracting and analysing data
  • Ability to work independently, proactively and flexibly, using own judgement, initiative and discretion where necessary
