Job Description

Are you a highly organised professional with experience in higher education? Are you a skilled administrator with outstanding verbal and written communication? If so, Signature Recruitment is looking for a Business Administration Officer to join a team in a prestigious higher education establishment in London.  This three-month full-time role offers the benefit of a hybrid working model. You will be required to work two days a week in the office, ideally Tuesday and Wednesday and the balance from home.

As Business Administration Officer, you will be part of a team aiding the Business Support Manager. A large element of the role focuses on assisting with business support projects. Additionally, you will assist with HR processes, such as coordinating the recruitment and on-boarding process of new staff. You will also be responsible for the ordering of office supplies and equipment.  Other general ad hoc administrative tasks as and when required.

Business Administration Officer Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking business projects for the general management of the Department. These may include assisting with office relocation projects, refurbishments, and repairs. Taking part in business process review groups and working closely with colleagues from different departments
  • Assisting the Business Support Manager in managing the annual teaching planning process, including updating the academic workload database
  • Aiding the recruitment, induction, and training process for new staff
  • Acting as a point of contact for academic visitors dealing with queries and advising them on procedures
  • Working on the content and production of departmental handbooks
  • Organising the purchase and recording of resources, equipment, and supplies


Business Administration Officer Key Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including appropriate use of English in formal documents, emails, and minutes as well s strong numerical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with senior and junior members of the team
  • Highly proficient IT skills including the Microsoft Suite and other Databases
  • Outstanding administration and organisational skills with the ability to multitask whilst maintaining high attention to detail
