Signature are very pleased to be working with a successful travel company on a truly unique and exciting role. This central Bristol based travel company are looking for a remote Business Development Manager to look after the retail side of the business.

You’ll be working to promote the well-known brand to retail travel agents in the UK through face- to- face visits and training. By managing existing and seeking out new relationships with the trade, you will be responsible for driving growth in sales through travel agents. Your role is to ensure that the company are the first choice for agents for enquiries to their featured destinations. You will play a key role in designing and delivering training on their product and destinations to the travel agent partners.

The role requires you to spend up to four days a week visiting travel agents with one day working from home for admin. The role therefore potentially requires some nights away from home each week. You will also be required to visit the head office in Bristol on a monthly basis.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Regularly visiting travel agents to generate required levels of enquiries
  • Identify new agent partners to work with and understand/act upon opportunities for growth
  • Plan and implement joint marketing campaigns with key agent partners
  • Promote a positive attitude towards travel agents within the company
  • Provide destination and product training for travel agents
  • Attend client events organised by travel agents
  • Manage relationships with travel agent partners and successfully resolve any issues that may arise
  • Occasionally lead agent familiarisation trips to featured destinations
  • Understand the changing needs of travel agent partners’ report trends back to sales, product and marketing teams.

To be considered for this role, you’ll need experience in:

  • Experience of working in the travel industry, preferably in a sales or business development role Knowledge and passion for travel
  • Highly motivated, well organized individual with ability to handle a high volume of simultaneous tasks
  • Desire to achieve sales targets
  • Excellent communication skills (written and in person)
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Excellent training and presenting skills
  • Ability to plan and manage own workload and work under own initiative
  • Have a flexible, driven and enthusiastic approach to work
