Do you have experience in Reception and Administrative duties? Are you professional yet friendly with great organisation and communication skills? If so, Signature Recruitment has a fantastic opportunity for a Reception Officer to join our client, a world-class science-based university in London. This is a full-time, temporary position with an immediate start for a three-month contract. The role is fully office-based.

As a Reception Officer, you will be the first point of contact greeting visitors in a welcoming yet efficient manner. You will also field general enquiries in person, or via telephone or email. In addition to reception duties, you will provide general administrative support to the Centre. This may include ordering of consumables, database and record management, organising deliveries and assisting with events.

Reception Officer Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the first point of contact and first impression of the Centre and greeting staff and visitors in a professional yet friendly manner. To include acting as a helpful point of information, maintaining the Visitor Book, electronically logging visitors and following security process and procedure, ensuring compliance of First Aid equipment
  • Assisting with general Reception duties. To include fielding general enquiries in person, and via telephone and email, sorting and distributing post, circulating information, overseeing mailing lists, databases and MS Teams
  • Managing the ordering of office consumables and organising deliveries including lab deliveries
  • Assisting with administrative tasks for large-scale events such as Open Days or Seminars
  • Reporting building maintenance, security, cleaning and recycling issues where appropriate
  • Carrying out other ad hoc duties in order to ensure the smooth running of the Centre

Reception Officer Key Skills:

  • Experience working in a Reception / Administrative role with customer service experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisation with the ability to balance a busy workload and maintain attention to detail
  • Highly Proficient IT skills – Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams
