Job Description

Do you have strong administrative skills for managing tasks within a busy and dynamic team? Do you have experience in a Higher Education setting? If yes, Signature Recruitment is excited to be partnering with our client, a prestigious London University, for a Senior Research Group Administrator.

This is a full time, temporary role with an immediate start, which will run for approximately two months. It is offered on hybrid model with three days in the office and two days working at home, but some flexibility is required to be onsite as and when necessary.

As a Senior Research Group Administrator, you will provide a central contact point for all staff and students of the group for research and teaching activities and ensure efficient and effective administrative support and guidance. This role includes elements of financial and resource management, pre- and post-award research management, and human resources. In addition, other ad-hoc administrative duties in order to assist colleagues and senior members of the team.

Senior Research Group Administrator Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing a key point of contact – giving an efficient service to electronic and in-person queries
  • Responsibility for coordinating aspects of recruitment, preparation of paperwork and ensuring compliance with process and procedures
  • Monitoring internal and research accounts including providing accurate and timely finance reports
  • Undertaking elements of expenditure for the research group including obtaining quotes, checking balances, raising purchase orders, submitting expense claims
  • Liaising closely with the Postgraduate Manager with the induction monitoring of new PhD students within the Group, including attendance, financial matters, and arrangements for examinations
  • Other ad-hoc administrative tasks and duties as required so as to assist the department including event planning – arrangements for meetings, seminars and conferences

Senior Research Group Administrator Key Skills:

  • A confident and proactive approach to handling tasks, a team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organisation and time management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly Proficient IT skills
