Job Description

Do you have good administrative and organisational skills? Do you have experience working with students and possess excellent pastoral care? Are you trained in Mental Health with the ability to build trust and rapport? Signature Recruitment are delighted to be seeking a full-time Student Wellbeing Assistant Manager on behalf of our client, a University in London.

This is a permanent, Monday-Friday role (10 am – 6 pm) although there will be a requirement to work 2/3 weekends during opening and closing events per term. You will also be expected to manage escalated resident and/or house emergencies as required outside of these hours. Living off campus, you will be offered a supportive work environment and to fuel your day, will be provided with both breakfast and lunchtime meals.

As an Assistant Manager for Student Life and Wellbeing, you will play an important role focusing on residential life. You will contribute to the social programme offering resident enjoyment, pastoral care, well-being, and holistic welfare of all residents. The post holder will be a highly motivated member of the team dealing with administrative tasks such as assisting with reception duties, applications, and residential queries. You will also be actively involved in dealing with student’s well-being and those suffering from anxiety and depression.

Student Wellbeing Assistant Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on administrative duties such as checking and answering emails, and telephone calls, dealing with residents’ queries in person
  • To assist the General Manager in resident care, room inspections, lettings, meetings, and marketing. Also to lead on inductions and departure processes
  • Independently plan, organise, and run events such as yoga, book clubs, arts, and crafts. Engaging students in an inclusive community
  • Confidently maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including resident notice boards. Circulate all relevant notices, letters, and information to students
  • Provide assistance, guidance, and advice to residents about all matters relating to studying, families and friendship issues
  • Competently deal with and manage welfare documentation

Student Wellbeing Assistant Manager Key Skills:

  • Excellent organisation with good time and diary management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to talk appropriately and thoughtfully to a range of stakeholders
  • Proficient in IT
  • Enhanced DBS and Mental Health Certificate as well as experience in dealing with young adults and mental health issues
