Magic Breakfast has done incredible work over the years ensuring that no child in poverty goes hungry at school.
We’re so proud of the work they do and have supported since them since 2017 by funding one breakfast for every completed feedback survey we receive.
The History of Magic Breakfast
While researching her book, Magic Breakfast founder Carmel interviewed five headteachers in the London borough of Hackney in 2000. They told her that many of their pupils at school arrived in the morning too hungry or malnourished to learn.
Carmel started buying and delivering breakfast food to these schools and the result was better concentration, behaviour, punctuality and educational attainment. As demand grew, Carmel took out a loan and registered Magic Breakfast as a charity in 2003.
Today they work with over 1,000 Primary, Secondary, ASL/Special Educational Needs schools, and Pupil Referral Units, offering breakfasts to over 200,000 children each school day.
Championing Children Today
With rising costs of living hitting many families and single parents, the work Magic Breakfast does is more important than ever.
They provide healthy and nutritious meals to children whose parents can’t afford it, meaning that these disadvantaged children are never too hungry to learn. If you’d like to help, when you receive a feedback survey from us, please spend a minute answering the 5 questions we ask as honestly as possible.
In return, we’ll donate a breakfast for every feedback survey we receive.
According to their research, “every £1 spent on a child’s breakfast now brings back £50 in to the public purse later – and one year of free breakfasts generates over £9000 in returns, through reduced costs to the state and higher tax receipts due to an increase in earning potential.”
At Signature recruitment, we are happy to support such important work. We are also grateful to our clients and candidates for taking the time to complete our surveys.
